Initially chartered in 1788,
the Belton church has been an integral part of God's mission to this
community and to the world. We continue to seek ways to respond to God's
gifts of love and grace. Perhaps there is no better way to describe the
character of this church than is stated in our Mission Statement:
"Belton Presbyterian Church is a Community of faith bound together by our
love for Christ and one another. Together we hold a common faith in Jesus
Christ as our Lord and Savior. We actively engage individually and
corporately in his work -- in our church, in our community and in the
world -- because of our commitment to Christ. We believe God has called
us, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to proclaim the Good News of
Jesus Christ and to be Witnesses of God's Grace.
To accomplish our purposes, we covenant to: Attend worship and pray
faithfully; Study and live by God's Word as found in both the Old and New
Testaments; Nurture our children and help them mature in faith; Identify
needs in our church and community and address them; Encourage sharing of
our time, talents and gifts; Encourage fellowship; Strengthen the family;
Minister to the elderly."
We hope that you will join us in our work and in our worship as we seek
God's direction in our lives together.
Blessings and Peace
